Hello~

Rika likes Okita about as much as she can like any adult who hasn't somehow gotten through her emotional defenses. He's fun, he's trolly in a way that reminds Rika a lot of herself, and in general he strikes her as a familiar sort of trustworthy that puts her at ease. If Okita were a kid, she'd probably consider him one of her best friends in camp. Weirdly, she'd also like him more if she knew he was a vampire, because somehow imperfect control over violence makes her more comfortable around people.

As it is, she still has that wariness that she gets around adults, but she likes him as much as she can with it.

I know we've already discussed it, but Rikaaaaaa~♥ Also Rika and Judai had one thread if there was anything there.

It should not come as any surprise that Rika likes Lambda a lot! XD

There's a lot of complicated things involved in there, though. One, she's the type of person who just...appeals to Rika! THIS IS PROBABLY NOT A SURPRISE TO ANYONE. But there's a pattern to the teasing and the trolling and the games that's very distinctly Higurashi/Umineko, and Rika really missed that. Zhores came the closest to getting it, which is big reason she likes him, but even he didn't really get that unconscious pattern of social interactions down. Plus being an adult male are two big points against him in those sorts of interactions. Lambda fills that lack for her, and it was one of the big things Rika really missed about home.

The game has also given her...grounding again? Rika basically came to camp treating it as a vacation from the game, and an opportunity to, well, recover from being broken a bit before she had to return to her fate! Especially since at the point she's taken from she knows she's right at the edge of being permanently broken in that way that means death. But because of that, she tended...hmm. She wanted to avoid it as much as possible? She made some desultory efforts to see if she could improve her situation back home, but when it didn't work...well, she's pretty much accepted her fate, and so it was easy for her to just try to forget it while she was here. But now Lambda's reinvolved her in the game again, and so she'll be pushing more on that from here on out.

More mundanely, she's just the type of person Rika's wished she had around! She has the knowledge of her that Hanyuu does, with a personality closer to Satoko, and that's pretty much her two most important people right there. She obviously has her own agenda, of course, but that mostly just makes her more intriguing. Plus she's never had a good drinking partner, and that seems awesome.

So yes. Rika ♥ Lambda.

As for Judai, Rika liked him well enough! Mostly she filed him into the cute and toppable and potentially useful portion of her mind. She'd probably enjoy playing with him if it ever came up, but she wouldn't really care enough to seek him out.

If there's anything for Brianna? :3

Rika likes Brianna a lot! Rika has a strong preference for girls who have gone through bad stuff and come out the stronger for it, and Brianna strikes her as the type. She's... huh, that's weird. She reminds her a lot of Satoko, her best friend back home, but oddly I think in this case, this has lead Rika to be a little standoffish. I suspect that it has to do with the fact that she knew Satoko since she really was the same age as her, while with Brianna she's always had her "I am different from the rest of humanity" mindset up.

But I digress, sort of. She enjoys being around Brianna, but in a way that makes it hard for actual friendship to penetrate.

A-Aww, Rika. :( Brianna has definitely noticed the lack of younger kids in Camp, so... Rika is kind of stuck with her now, hah.

Wow, "soothing" is definitely a word I wouldn't expect to get associated with Brianna. XD BUT GOOD, I'm glad!

Cielo on Zhores:
Cielo likes him! He reminds him of Gale, and he's easy to hang around and teaches him stuff.

Cielo on Shaun:
Shaun annoys him. The end!

Ferdinand on Zhores:
I ADORE YOU TEACH ME WISE SENSEI. ...Yeah actually that covers a lot of it. Ferdinand has a giant crush on Zhores, and also genuinely looks up to him as a wise person who understands the world. He listens to Zhores, and tries hard to do what Zhores wants him to do (even if...that doesn't always work well orz). He finds him really confusing a lot of the time, especially with the "tricking me is hot" thing, but he wants to make Zhores proud of him! He's just. Not very good at it.

Ferdinand on Shaun:
I don't think they've met! Odds of Shaun making him running off crying: high.

Rika on Zhores:
Rika likes Zhores a lot! He's pretty much the older brother she never had. She likes their banter and the fact that he gives her alcohol and generally just...enjoys his company. IDK what else to say, really. Older brother she never had pretty much sums it up.

Rika on Shaun:
Has no real impression of him. Mostly not really interested in him, since she's hard to sell on adult men, especially if they're not her type personality-wise.

Okay talking more about Rika and Zhores.

One of the interesting things to me about Rika and Zhores' relationship is that it's really very outside the mold of Rika's normal relationships, because Zhores is in his way an authority figure who wants to protect her. One of the reasons Rika is so screwed up is that no one does! The people who are supposed to protect her either fail in such a way as to cause more damage (and that includes Hanyuu, her parents, and even Akasaka for a very long time) or are the people who are hurting her. She's protected by her friends, but that's very much a thing of equals, rather than protector/protectee.

Rika does not expect Zhores to protect her! I mean, she doesn't not expect him to, because it hasn't really come up much. But his assumption that he's... okay, he doesn't quite see himself as an authority figure over her IIRC, but it's...hmm. I don't really know how to put it. It's an interesting adult/child dynamic where he seems to feel the responsibilities of an adult for a child they care for, while Rika's overall the one who dominates in their relationship.

Just doing Rika because I'm braindead today.

Rika finds Raidou very intriguing, what with the whole invisible demons thing. Rika's used to seeing things (well, thing) that no one else can, and anyone else who has invisible demons around him...interesting! She also appreciates him being protective and finds him potentially useful. She'd probably consider asking him for help if her timeline actually matched up with anyone else's.

Rika on Cesare?

Rika finds Cesare really fascinating! He's not like any other person that she's met, and Rika loves novelty a lot. At the same time, Rika pretty much defines people by whether they're in her circle or not (see the first post here (moextispicy.livejournal.com/1817.html) if you want the full explanation, because I can't think of way to explain it without a mini essay And Rika is fairly certain that Cesare is not in her circle. Usually this would mean for Rika to dismiss someone as anything more than a random unimportant bystander, but...Cesare is not really the unimportant bystander type! She finds that fairly interesting.

I AM RAMBLING. Basically, what it comes down to is that she likes Cesare as a conversation partner (and someone who teaches her to ride horses!) and generally as someone fairly...uninvolved who she can still enjoy being around?

Cesare actually feels very similarly about Rika. He has his own deal with classifying people as in or outside of his circle, too. :') Rika isn't in it. But he is perfectly capable of being polite to people he doesn't have real ties to and it's nice to know some interesting people who he's not really involved with. Also, Rika appears to be around the same age as his sister, so that gets her some points in her favor. :D

I suspect Lucrezia and Rika would get along very well, actually XD Clearly someone should app her!
