This computer is what runs the Cry Wolf game. I want to reprogram it.

[motions with a hand]

[takes the vacated spot, sets his cane down on the floor and starts clacking away at the keys, opening certain windows and navigating his way through whatever the computer will allow him to]

All right, I'm no hacker, but these specs are definitely doable for my skill level. The hard part will be accessing the program code in case the changes have to be done manually. [has been staring at the screen this whole time, but finally looks over to address her specifically:] What specific changes are you aiming to make? [there's the obvious, but those are vague ideas at best]

Can you erase it entirely, so that the game can't be played again?

[something flat about her tone subtly suggests that she expects the answer will be no]

I can try . . . I did once delete viral malcode from Last Order's brain by taking control of the electrical signals in her brain and replacing it with the original copy of her personality files . . . She's a human computer, you see. The problem here [points thumb at screen] is you have to keep in mind that Naoto and Raven might have already tried erasing the data and failed. The best they managed was some kind of alert system that ended up not being enough. We're gonna have to be careful of whatever security this has.

I guess if Lambda couldn't blow it up, blowing up the software isn't likely to work either. Tch.

So no room for me to step in, huh? [shrugs and puts her arms behind her head] I'll just leave this in the hands of our competent experts, then. I'm no good with this complicated stuff. Just let me know if you need firepower!

[and to Accelerator] What do you think you can do to it? You're in the best position to say.

[looks at the screen again and searches through windows as he explains]

Most likely, if I study how the security works I could figure out how to circumvent that with electrical signals and do something similar to how I removed that virus. I'll need to obtain the raw code for both versions of the game for that.

. . . [taps at something on the screen] It looks like this is inaccessible. What do you think?

I got locked out of it when the last game ended.

[frowns]

Don't tell me there was another kill game since the time Hatter fucked us all over.

Hazama ran one. [her tone doesn't imply that she wants to go into details]

Why am I not surprised.

[done muttering barely audible, his tone returns to its usual slight condescension]

I'll have to scour the hard drives before I can say for sure, but it's possible the data we need is only accessible during one of those games. If that's the case . . .

Then we'll have to run one.

[eyeing them both. He's less surprised than he would have been before seeing Rika kill Lambda, but it still unnerves him somewhat]

It should only be done as a last resort. I know sometimes you gotta take big risks, but I'd prefer to keep the number of sacrifices to a minimum.

[realizes that she should really be toning this down more, but can't quite bring herself to care]

I'm gonna pick up some tech while we're in Academy City that might help in combating the security and protection on this thing. Once I'm back, we can work on things and run the game if absolutely necessary.

All right. At very least, I want my name out of the computer's list of potential players.
